• The first community service project was to provide a subscription
to the Rotary Magazine for the public library.
• Christmas 1973 a tradition was started for each member to bring
a gift for a needy child and write a poem about the members name that
you drew.
• February 1975 a minstrel show was given to raise money for a video
tape machine.
• January 1991, the club purchased raffle ducks for $428 for a fundraiser.
This started the famous Rotary Duck Race held at the yearly convention
in the spring.
Fundraisers are:
• International Dinner and Auction, nets $5,000 or more.
• Annual Belgian Waffle Breakfast
• Annual Backyard BBQ Raffle, nets over $1,500.
• Annual sponsor of the Community and School Calendar

• Performed a Melodrama during the 125th Anniversary of Rockwell
City.

• Give scholarships to the graduating seniors whose parent is a
Rotarian
• Help the Boy Scouts
• Contribute to the Domestic Abuse Center
• Participate in the annual Avenue of Trees at Christmas time at
the Calhoun County Museum
• Hunger Meal, twice a year-money goes to a needy organization
• Special night for passing of the gavel, every year
• Toxic Waste clean up
• Annual Christmas tree pick up in January
• In May help with City Wide clean up day
• Biggest Challenge-pledging $15,000 to the new Rockwell City Library/Community
Bldg.
• Donated a tepee for the School so the students could study native
Indians
• New slide for the Rockwell City Swimming Pool
• Work in progress on a basketball court by the Swimming Pool
• Donated money to Rockwell City Park Commission for various items
• Help defray cost of the Rockwell City Quasquincentennial
• Helped with Bikes for Tikes at the North Central Correctional
Facility
• Helped raise money for a new curtain for the High School Auditorium
• 7 Outbound Exchange students
• 29 members and are trying to recruit new members all the time.
