Greetings from District Governor Joe Gitta
Welcome to District 5970!
It is my pleasure to serve as District Governor for the year 2015-2016. Our Rotary International president for this year is Ravi Ravindran from Sri Lanka. Ravi’s theme is: “Be a Gift to The World”. The District Leaders are here to help Rotarians and Clubs be just that.
Although many of Rotary’s Goals are the same, end polio, provide clean water and sanitation, improve health, prevent conflicts and promote peace, we as Rotarians can bring new gifts to the world by working together with young and old to promote Rotary in every aspect of our lives. We will honor our long standing traditions and make them stronger by incorporating the necessary changes of our times. We will pursue the diversity needed to make Rotary stronger than ever and embrace the gifts that new Rotarians bring to every club. We will invite our friends and family to partake in these gifts and together our District will indeed be a treasured “Gift To The World”.
I look forward to meeting each and every one of you in our District and wish you a most successful Rotary year.
