Governor Jim and Diane Patton
Jim Patton joined Rotary at Rockwell City, Iowa in 1980. While a member there, he served as Club President, member of District Conference and Youth Exchange Committees, and a trainer in membership development at District 5970 forums.
Jim’s two sons were Rotary exchange students, Michael to Belgium in 1988 and Ryan to the Netherlands in 1992. The family hosted students from Australia, Sweden and Denmark as well as GSE team members.
While a member of the Rockwell City Rotary Club, Jim became a Paul Harris Fellow. Jim has increased his involvement with additional PHFs in his name, for his wife Diane and his father-in-law.
Since 1995 Jim has been a member of the Fort Dodge Noon Rotary Club. He has served as a board member, chairman of a Rotary sponsored after-school program, a member of the Rotary New Member Orientation committee and the Crawford-Snell Park Committee. Jim served as Assistant District Governor for eight years.
Jim and Diane attended the Rotary International Centennial Convention in Chicago, as well as the 2010 Montreal and 2011 New Orleans Conventions.
Jim received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Agricultural Education from Iowa State University. His professional career includes seven years teaching high school agriculture, twenty years in bank management/ownership, and sixteen years with Iowa State University Extension, first as a county extension director for fourteen years and then two years as regional extension education director, before retiring July 1, 2011.
Jim and Diane have two married sons and two grandchildren
