Foundation First Newsletter - April, 2026

Good day Rotarians,

April has come fast. It's time for Club Leadership to establish next year's goals.  Please reach out if you need help researching where you are and what the last few years goals and results have been. We have one last Grant Seminar coming on Saturday. You can register through this link.

I'd also like to highlight a Global Grant from a few years ago where Iowa was the district where the Global Grant was hosted.  In the 2019-2020 Rotary year We funded a Global Grant for health care equipment at four Federally funded Health Care Centers in Iowa. Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Dubuque and Fort Dodge. The Total Value was $38,413.21. You, Rotarians, made the difference in the lives of women, children and men in Iowa through this grant.  Through Rotary, we change lives.

This equipment was provided through the Rotary lowa Health Care Center Global Grant GG1988377. The grant was a result of a collaboration by the Rotary International clubs and districts listed below:

Rotary International is launching a campaign called, “Countdown to History.”  Goals were set and pledges were made, the and we can’t do it without you, as Rotarians. We are asking for Rotarians across District 5970 to give a minimum of $40 to End Polio Now. This will get our District to the goal set by Rotary International.

A New Polio Banner is available for Club Events! See it here.  Contact foundationchair@district5970.com to borrow it
